The integrated interactive communications system for distance learning

Аннотация / Annotation:
The Integrated Corporate Conferencing System is discussed in the paper. Initially this system has been developed as a tool for carrying out different conferences for territorially distributed groups of the Southern Federal University (SFedU, Russia) employees. But this system can also be successively used in distance learning. In this case the system provides the possibility for parallel carrying out lections, seminars, consultations and other kind of measures in the separate distributed virtual lecture-rooms in the videoconference mode. Each of such virtual lecture-rooms can incorporate not only videoconference-rooms but also permanent or mobile workplaces of teachers and students. These workplaces should be connected to Internet and be equipped by computer, IP-phone or mobile device (notebook, pad or smart phone) with installed programmed SIP-phone. The system supports both preplanned videoconferences and urgent ones, necessity of that are dynamically occurred. It is possible also the dynamical connections of participant both to preplanned and dynamically organized videoconferences. The system has been introduced in the SFedU IT-center for carrying out distributed conferences and can be successively used in educational institutions for carrying out different educational measures of distant learning in distributed virtual lecture-rooms.
