Methodology of Building of Environment Remote General Education

Аннотация / Annotation:
The article examines distance learning (DL) as a form of educational activity, which are based on three subsystems: the subject-object, methodical and telecommunications. Remote secondary environments (RSE) refers to as an external component of distance learning, including: the social order with regard to DL, the conditions to the organization of DL, to the requirements or standards of DL, principles of organization of DL and performance criteria of DL. On the basis of the general principles of the implementation of all activities are formulated and justified principles of RSE. On the basis of environmental components of activities formulated and expanded mechanisms for the implementation of RSE.

Interuniversity Internet Competition in English Skills Among Medical Students: Organization and Performance

Аннотация / Annotation:
We organized the Internet competition in English skills among first- year students from two Russian medical schools (USMU and KrasSMU). The aim was to enhance students’ motivation to study English for professional purposes. The competition had three stages held during 30 days in November-December, 2014 via the Internet on the e-educational platforms of the universities. All tasks were related to medical profession. Overall 130 students took part in the competition at the first stage. The best 35 students continued their work at the second stage where they created a video. Then 10 students were selected to participate in the final, which was held as a teleconference between the universities. The results of the competition showed that medical students enthusiastically accepted new teaching methods developing their creativity. Moreover, such competitions promote better communication between the universities.

Analysis of Compatibility of Questionnaire Items for Measurement of Pupils’ Creative Abilities

In the paper creative abilities of pupils are considered as latent variables. There are examined the possibility of using well known questionnaires as measurement tools for estimating these latent variables on a linear scale. The crucial point is the compatibility of questionnaires items with measurement model. The technique of an estimation of compatibility of questionnaires items is presented. Research was conducted within the framework of the theory of measurement of latent variables based on Rasch model. It was shown that some of the questionnaires can be considered as measurement tools for estimating creative abilities of pupils on a linear scale.
